Must-Haves at your next pop-up market!

After having done a couple of local vendor events/markets myself, I always generate a list of what to bring or what I will need for the next one. Check out some “must-haves” for anyone who may be a small business owner and looking to sell at markets!

Must- Haves:

  • Notepad and writing utensil - I cannot tell you the amount of times I’ve been told of other awesome markets to check out for my next vendor event. This allows me to jot down other market referrals from vendors. This will also allow you to keep track of what you sold, what you need to make more of, what items are popular, etc.

  • Paper Towels/Rags - You can never control the weather. That being said, it’s great to have these handy to wipe down your area and keep it clean throughout your event. I have even shared this specific item with other vendors who didn’t have them.

  • Tape/ String/Scissors - I have used this item many times for not only my own display, but to help others secure their displays.

  • Spring Clamps - These can be used to secure items to tables, hang items from your tent (if you bring one), etc.

  • Tags/ Dry-erase Markers- These are so useful. You can display product names, prices, and so much more on your tags. With the dry erase markers, you can edit whatever you need to each market.

  • Change- While some bigger companies are straying away from cash, small business owners are still using it as a payment method! Make sure you run to the bank and grab some cash for change before your next market.

  • Speaker- This is more of a suggestion, but having music playing at your vendor booth not only draws people in, but it’s entertainment for you during those long selling hours!
